Violence Marks Christmas Day Across the U.S.
From a stabbing at Grand Central Terminal to a shooting at a Colorado mall, incidents of violence were reported nationwide, even as lighter moments unfolded at a zoo in Texas and on a California interstate.
- Two teenage girls were stabbed by a 36-year-old man at New York's Grand Central Terminal on Christmas Day. The girls are expected to recover and the man was arrested shortly after the attack.
- Maryland rapper Judah James, known as Bandhunta Jugg, was shot and killed in his car outside a Baltimore-area shopping mall. Three other men were injured in the shooting.
- A llama named Challenger was found loose on a California interstate and was safely returned to its owners by the California Highway Patrol.
- Iowa guard Caitlin Clark attended the Kansas City Chiefs' game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Clark is a lifelong Chiefs fan.
- A baby sloth named Aluna at the San Antonio Zoo was filmed snuggling with Santa Claus.
- New York City synagogues received a series of false bomb threats via email. The NYPD is investigating the threats, which appear to be part of a 'swatting' hoax.
- A shooting occurred at the Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs on Christmas Eve. A suspect is in custody and there have been no confirmed reports of any deaths or injuries.
