Overview

• The Observatoire recorded 1,992 incidents in 2024, nearly double the annual tally since 2021.
• General practitioners accounted for the majority of victims, with most incidents in outpatient practices and women representing 55% of those targeted.
• Verbal abuse and threats made up the bulk of cases, while thefts and physical assaults formed smaller shares, with intrusions also reported in clinics.
• Île-de-France and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur saw the highest regional totals, and the Nord department alone registered 420 declarations.
• Only about a third of affected doctors filed complaints, as the Order expands protocols with authorities and a 2025 law increases penalties and enables institutional complaints.
