Overview
- The Vietnamese EV maker will announce Indian prices for its VF6 and VF7 on September 6, marking its market debut.
- Both SUVs are locally assembled at VinFast’s Thoothukudi plant, with the VF7 the first model built there and initial capacity cited at about 50,000 units a year, scalable to 150,000.
- Pre-bookings opened on July 15 for a Rs 21,000 amount, and the company is opening showrooms with a stated target of about 35 outlets by year-end.
- The VF6 uses a 59.6kWh battery and a 204hp front motor with a WLTP-rated range of about 480km, while the VF7 features a 70.8kWh pack with 2WD or AWD options, delivering up to 350hp and WLTP ranges of about 450km (2WD) and 431km (AWD).
- Autocar India estimates on-road prices at roughly Rs 20–25 lakh for the VF6 and Rs 25–30 lakh for the VF7, and official ARAI/MIDC range figures have not yet been announced.
