Overview

  • VinFast officially inaugurated its EV assembly plant at SIPCOT Industrial Park in Thoothukudi on August 4, marking the start of local production.
  • The facility will initially produce 50,000 vehicles annually with capacity to scale to 150,000 units and is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs.
  • The company has opened pre-bookings for its VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs with a refundable ₹21,000 deposit and plans to establish 35 showrooms across 27 cities, including its 4,700 sq ft Chennai outlet.
