Overview

  • Under the agreement, BatX Energies will begin high-voltage battery recycling and rare metal recovery for VinFast’s Thoothukudi plant and after-sales operations.
  • Proprietary hydrometallurgical processes will extract lithium, cobalt and nickel with full traceability to reduce resource dependency and environmental impact.
  • The deal establishes an integrated battery value chain that supports urban mining, second-life applications and strategic resource tracking across India and Vietnam.
  • VinFast plans to reuse recovered materials in its production cycle as it scales output of its upcoming VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs.
  • The partnership aligns with India’s FAME II incentives and VinFast’s concurrent investments in its Thoothukudi facility, dealership networks, service centers and charging infrastructure.
