Vince Neil Says He Suffered Christmas Stroke as Mötley Crüe Opens Rescheduled Las Vegas Run

The singer says months of therapy restored most function after left-side paralysis that forced the spring residency to be postponed.

Overview

  • Neil revealed he had a stroke in his sleep the day after Christmas, losing control of his left side and later relearning how to walk while retaining his singing voice.
  • Doctors initially doubted a return to performing, but he progressed from being carried to a wheelchair, then a walker and cane, and now estimates he is 90–95% recovered with help from intensive therapy and a Nashville coach.
  • The Dolby Live at Park MGM residency originally set for March 28–April 19 was moved to Sept. 12–Oct. 3, with previously purchased tickets honored for the new dates.
  • Mötley Crüe also canceled a May appearance at Maryland’s Boardwalk Rock festival, and Neil eased back to live performance with solo shows in August before the residency launch.
  • Separately, a Learjet owned by Neil was involved in a fatal collision in Scottsdale in February; he was not aboard, and multiple people were injured.
