Vikram Solar Raises Rs 620.8 Crore From Anchors as IPO Opens for Subscription

Proceeds target a new integrated solar cell–module facility in Tamil Nadu with planned capacity expansion to 6,000 MW.

Overview

  • The anchor tranche comprised 1.87 crore shares at Rs 332 each allotted to 43 investors.
  • Nine domestic mutual funds applied through 22 schemes and together took 52.39% of the anchor book, with the largest allocations to Goldman Sachs India Equity Portfolio and Prudential AHAPAG at 8.06% each, followed by Franklin India funds at 6.45% and UTI Value Fund at 4.62%.
  • The three-day offer opens Aug 19 and closes Aug 21 in a Rs 315–332 price band with a minimum application lot of 45 shares, and the stock is slated to list on the BSE and NSE.
  • The IPO targets up to Rs 2,079 crore, including a Rs 1,500-crore fresh issue and a promoter offer for sale of up to 1.745 crore shares worth about Rs 579 crore.
  • Fresh proceeds include Rs 770 crore for VSL Green Power to build a 3,000 MW cell and 3,000 MW module facility in Tamil Nadu, plus Rs 595 crore to expand the site to 6,000 MW.
