Overview
- On Friday police registered an FIR against Krishnalanka Circle Inspector S V Nagaraju charging murder and wrongful confinement under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
- The complaint was filed by Gade Vijayalakshmi, who says her son Gade Sai Krishna was taken by Krishnalanka police on May 9 and has been missing since that pickup.
- A magistrate ordered preservation of Krishnalanka station CCTV from May 1 to June 1 and directed police to produce call data records for Krishna and his mother to help establish his movements.
- Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu suspended Nagaraju and has ordered a probe led by senior IPS officer D. Narasimha Kishore while opposition leaders and parties are demanding a CBI or judicial inquiry.
- The case has intensified after a separate May 21 selfie video showed another man accusing the same inspector of repeated harassment, and the family says the investigation will determine whether custodial torture and a secret disposal occurred.
