Overview
- Mayor Abel Caballero announced the Plaza de Vialia attraction under the name Vialia On Ice as a new epicentre of the season.
- The site will host two ice rinks—a 200-square-meter children’s rink and a 540-square-meter rink for adults—plus a pneumatic-sled toboggan with a 25-meter run from a seven-meter height.
- The installation includes 75 wooden booths with pergolas forming illuminated walkways, a 15-meter LED tree and a themed children’s train.
- The city plans to open the Christmas season in the second half of November, but has not set installation or light switch-on dates.
- The move extends holiday programming beyond the historic centre after earlier expansion efforts faced resident protests and mixed court rulings.
