Vigo SeaFest Returns With 14 Chef Stalls and Live Maritime Program

The four-day SeaFest serves as ARVI's platform to promote seafood by showcasing the local fishing sector.

Overview

  • The seventh Vigo SeaFest opened on Thursday, July 9 and runs through July 12 across the Jardines de Montero Ríos, Elduayen and the Náutico area.
  • Fourteen paired chef-operated casetas offer tapas and seafood creations alongside separate crepe, pastry and cocktail areas for visitors to sample.
  • A juried competition led by Michelin-starred chef Manuel Costiña has begun visiting the casetas as part of the Fish & Beer contest that evaluates chef proposals.
  • The program pairs showcooking and children's workshops with music, DJs and nautical sports such as artistic swimming, water-polo and sailing baptisms.
  • ARVI, backed by technical partner ANFACO-CYTMA, aims to boost fish consumption, give local restaurants visibility and introduce less-common species to the public.
