Vigil Planned as Mother and Stepfather Held in Rebecca Park Killing Case

Prosecutors say Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew abducted the 22-year-old and killed her near-term fetus in a planned attack.

Overview

  • A candlelight vigil is set for 4 p.m. Saturday on 21 ½ Road in Boon Township near where Park’s body was found.
  • Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew are jailed without bond on counts including first-degree murder, torture, unlawful imprisonment, assault causing miscarriage or stillbirth, and removal of a body, with life sentences possible if convicted.
  • Officials have not disclosed whether the remains of Park’s baby have been recovered.
  • Searchers found Park’s body on Nov. 25 in the Manistee National Forest near the Bartholomews’ residence.
  • Park’s fiancé, Richard Lee Falor, and sister, Kimberly Park, were arrested on separate charges and later released on reduced bonds; preliminary hearings are set for Falor on Dec. 9 and for the Bartholomews on Dec. 16.
