• Michigan State Police released a short clip on Oct. 13 showing a deer rescue in Spring Arbor Township.
• Troopers were called on Oct. 10 to a home in the 3600 block of Spring Arbor Road for a deer stuck in an iron fence near its hind legs.
• A trooper placed a coat over the animal’s head to calm it before the officers chose their approach.
• They used a floor jack from their vehicle to separate the fence rods and gently lift the deer through the gap.
• The deer ran off after being freed, and local reporting notes the residential area sits near trees and open fields.
