Video Captures Gunman Firing in Castle Vale After Early-Morning Brawl

West Midlands Police arrested three suspects as they probe who was involved in the melee that led to shots being fired.

Overview

  • At around 2 am on June 1, a street brawl in Kenrick Croft, Castle Vale, escalated and video footage captured a man firing twice down the middle of the road.
  • Police have detained a 40-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man on suspicion of violent disorder and firearm possession, with the latter currently in hospital awaiting questioning.
  • No injuries from gunfire have been reported and officers found no one at the scene when they arrived.
  • West Midlands Police are conducting extensive enquiries, have increased reassurance patrols and are asking anyone with information to contact them quoting log 446 of June 1.
  • Castle Vale councillor Ray Goodwin condemned the incident as unacceptable and thanked police for their swift action to protect residents.
