Overview

• Operation Scoreboard ran statewide from 12:01am on Sept 25 to 11:59pm on Sept 28, with officers detecting more than 5,000 offences.
• In the Bendigo area, police reported 85 speeding offences along with detections for drink and drug driving, disqualified and unlicensed drivers, unregistered vehicles, and one impoundment.
• Across the Ballarat Police Service Area, officers recorded 11 alleged speeders, two drink drivers, three drug drivers, seven disqualified drivers, five unlicensed drivers, eight unregistered vehicles, and four vehicle impoundments.
• Ballarat officers intercepted a 21-year-old P-plate driver allegedly travelling at 180 km/h in a 100 km/h zone at Napoleons, with his vehicle impounded for 30 days and charges expected on summons.
• Road Policing Assistant Commissioner Glenn Weir called the results concerning, with Acting Senior Sergeant Nathan Monteduro reporting disappointment over impaired driving as the state road toll reached 219, up from 210 a year earlier.
