Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala Win Top Honors at CAF Awards

Osimhen, who led Napoli to its first Italian league title in 33 years, and Oshoala, who won the best women’s player honor for a record sixth time, both hail from Nigeria.

Asisat Oshoala, also from Nigeria, won the best women’s player honor for a record sixth time.
Osimhen, who grew up in poverty in Lagos, Nigeria, led Serie A with 26 goals last season, helping Napoli win the title.
Osimhen is the first Nigerian to win the award since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.
Despite his success, Osimhen has yet to win a senior title with his country.
