• Nine families filed suit in Dallas County on June 6 and attorneys say roughly 200 more have contacted them with similar injury claims
• Defendants include Varsity Spirit, Varsity Brands and venue operators such as OVG Facilities, Oak View Group, Global Spectrum and Omni Hotels Management Corporation
• Plaintiffs allege that no emergency plans were executed, announcements were not made and security staff did not assist attendees during the panic
• Attendees reported injuries including broken bones, concussions and brain bleeds, and some minors were separated from their parents in the chaos
• The plaintiffs are seeking more than $1 million in damages to cover medical costs and mental health care and say the lawsuit is intended to drive improvements to security protocols at major events
