Vicente López Installs 200th Safety Totem to Strengthen Security Network

Officials plan further rollouts to improve emergency response through a network of 200 safety totems across the district.

Overview

  • The 200th Punto Seguro was installed on July 24 at the intersection of Aristóbulo del Valle and Monasterio near Puente Saavedra.
  • Each totem includes a panic button, 360° dome camera and speaker that connect instantly to the Urban Monitoring Center, which then dispatches SAME, firefighters or Civil Defense.
  • Under the Integrated Security Plan, the municipality has also deployed 360° and thermal cameras and pioneered an AI-driven detection ring to intercept motochorros.
  • Mayor Soledad Martínez says the combined system of cameras, patrols, foot agents and Puntos Seguros has helped make Vicente López one of the safest districts in the Buenos Aires conurbano.
  • Neighbors rely on Puntos Seguros to report criminal acts and other emergencies, receiving rapid assistance from patrols and medical services.
