Vice President Radhakrishnan Hails Libraries as 'Temples of Learning' at Kerala Conference

Radhakrishnan said libraries serve as knowledge hubs that help people access authentic information and counter misinformation in the digital age.
He delivered the remarks via video to the International Conference on “Libraries Empowering Communities – Global Perspectives” in Thiruvananthapuram.
Organised by the P. N. Panicker Foundation at Kanakakkunnu Palace, the Nov. 2–3 event marks 80 years of Kerala’s organised library movement.
He praised Kerala’s reading culture, cited the Foundation’s “Vayichu Valaruka” (Read and Grow) motto, and urged stronger public and community library networks nationwide.
The vice president noted that technology eases access to information but libraries cultivate depth, reflection and meaningful dialogue.
