Vice President Harris is set to attend a global AI summit taking place in the UK, with the aim of promoting the Biden-Harris administration's leadership on the emerging technology.
The trip, which includes a visit to Bletchley Park, a historic WWII codebreakers' base, follows the anticipated issuance of a major executive order on AI by the White House.
Harris will deliver a major speech on the administration's vision for the future of AI in London, and represent the U.S. at the Global Summit on AI Safety at Bletchley Park.
The Vice President's visit is focused on advocating for human rights, civil rights, labour rights, consumer rights, privacy, inclusion of civil society in AI policymaking and accountability for the private sector.
Although China's invitation to the summit has been met with criticism, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has argued that all the world's leading AI powers need to be engaged for a serious AI strategy.
