- President José Jerí swore in Teresa Mera at the Government Palace to lead the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism.
- She previously served as vice minister of foreign trade after senior roles as Mincetur chief of staff and director for North America and Europe.
- Her public-sector career spans more than three decades across Mincetur, Promperú and Indecopi, supported by a PUCP law degree and a master’s from the World Trade Institute in Bern.
- Mera led Peru’s intellectual property negotiating teams for trade agreements with the European Union, Canada, China, Japan, Korea, the Pacific Alliance and the TPP.
