• He was the son of Malayalam icon Prem Nazir and died late on August 4 at a private Thiruvananthapuram hospital after four years of treatment for heart and kidney ailments.
• His funeral rites commenced today at Palayam Muslim Jamaat Cemetery in Thiruvananthapuram.
• Shanavas made his screen debut in 1981 with Prema Geethangal, took a hiatus after 1991 and returned in 2011 with China Town.
• Across more than 50 films and several television series, he remained active most recently in the 2022 thriller Jana Gana Mana.
• He is survived by his wife Aisha Abdul Aziz and sons Ajit Khan and Shameer Khan, who have received widespread condolences from Kerala’s film fraternity.
