Veteran Kannada Actor Sarigama Viji Passes Away at 76

The celebrated actor and theatre artist succumbed to multiple organ failure after battling age-related illnesses.

Sarigama Viji, born R Vijaykumar, passed away on January 15, 2025, at the age of 76 due to multiple organ failure.
He was undergoing treatment for a lung infection and age-related illnesses at a private hospital near Yeshwanthpur, Karnataka.
Over his career, Viji acted in nearly 300 Kannada films and was renowned for his iconic theatre play 'Samsaradalli Sarigama,' which was performed over 1,390 times.
He also contributed as an assistant director in 80 films and directed around 2,400 episodes of television shows.
His last rites will be held on January 16 at Chamarajpet Crematorium, with public viewing organized at Ravindra Kalakshetra earlier in the day.
