  • An institution builder, he founded cooperative sugar factories at Hallikhed and Hunaji, advanced the Naranja and Karanja irrigation projects, and led Shantivardhak Education Society to establish colleges in Bidar and Bhalki; he is survived by sons Eshwar and Amar Kumar and four daughters.
