Veteran Actor John Beasley Dies at Age 79

John Beasley, known for his roles on TV shows like Everwood and The Soul Man, passed away in Omaha, Nebraska after being hospitalized for a liver issue.
Beasley had a late start to acting, beginning his career in his mid-40s, but worked steadily in film and television for over 30 years.
In addition to his TV roles, Beasley appeared in films such as The Mighty Ducks, Rudy, and The General's Daughter.
Beasley was known for starting the John Beasley Theater & Workshop to provide opportunities for African American actors in Omaha.
Beasley is survived by his wife of over 50 years, two sons, a daughter-in-law, and six grandchildren.
