• Potdar died on August 18 at Jupiter Hospital in Thane after ICU admission for breathing and heart issues, Dr. Ravindra Ghawat told PTI.
• The hospital said he passed away at 10:30 p.m. due to heart-related complications linked to high blood pressure and weak cardiovascular health.
• Last rites were performed in Thane on August 19 as colleagues and fans shared condolences and memories of his work.
• Aamir Khan, Boman Irani, Hansal Mehta and Jackie Shroff posted tributes, calling him an exceptional actor and a gracious colleague.
• He appeared in more than 125 films and nearly 100 TV serials, was widely remembered for 3 Idiots, and earlier served as an Army captain, college professor and Indian Oil executive before entering acting at 44.
