Spikes and tacks were first reported the evening of Sept. 2 on the dirt path behind Brookdale Avenue School. The trail runs through woods parallel to Sunset Avenue and serves some students walking to and from school. Hundreds of sharp objects have been removed by Verona police and the township’s public works department as the investigation continues. Authorities have received multiple reports of damaged bicycles linked to the hazard.
