Verizon to Shut Down Hum Connected-Car Service on December 31, 2025

The move reflects changing in-car technology that has reduced demand for aftermarket add-ons.

Overview

  • All Hum services for Hum+ and Humx will end on the cutoff date, including Crash Response, Roadside Assistance, Vehicle Diagnostics, and Location Services.
  • Humx-specific features such as the in-vehicle Wi‑Fi hotspot and NumberShare will also cease on December 31, 2025.
  • Customers will be billed for Hum through the shutdown date, with no charges assessed after service ends.
  • Users can download driving history and other account data from the Hum portal until the cutoff, after which Verizon says the data will be permanently deleted.
  • Devices do not need to be returned, and the Hum app will be decommissioned when service ends.
