Prasad defeated K. N. Shanthakumar 749–558 to win the presidency by 191 votes.
His team secured major offices with Sujith Somasundar as vice-president, B. N. Madhukar as treasurer, and Santosh Menon as secretary, while B. K. Ravi won joint secretary from the rival camp.
Backed by Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath, Prasad campaigned to end perceived back-seat driving and restore professional governance.
The election follows the stadium’s blacklisting on safety grounds after a July stampede that cost Bengaluru international fixtures, including ICC Women’s World Cup matches.
Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar pledged to keep IPL matches at Chinnaswamy and promised a new cricket stadium for Bengaluru.
