Overview
- Venezuela’s Transport Ministry and INAC announced the revocations after publication in the Nov. 26 Gaceta Oficial, stripping Iberia, TAP, Avianca, LATAM Colombia, Turkish Airlines and Gol of their permanent concessions.
- The airlines had suspended Caracas routes after a Nov. 21 FAA advisory warning of deteriorating security and increased military activity over and around Venezuela.
- Interior minister Diosdado Cabello enforced a 48‑hour ultimatum for carriers to resume service, stating that Venezuela decides who operates in its Flight Information Region.
- Travel links have been sharply reduced, with industry estimates of at least 8,000 passengers stranded, and additional operators including Air Europa, Plus Ultra, Caribbean, Laser and Estelar also pausing services.
