Overview

• Officers from the Blue Island Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle that ran a red light before it fled northbound on Halsted Street
• At approximately 7:30 p.m. on July 10, the fleeing vehicle struck a Pace bus and two other cars near South Halsted and West Vermont streets in West Pullman
• Eleven people were injured in the collision, including commuters and occupants of the other vehicles
• Chicago Fire Department paramedics transported nine victims to area hospitals with five listed in serious-to-critical condition
