Veena Sud Tapped as Showrunner for "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" Series at Amazon MGM Studios

New Series to Take Iconic Character Lisbeth Salander into Today's World with New Setting, Characters, Story

Veena Sud, creator of the series 'Seven Seconds,' has been confirmed as the showrunner for Amazon MGM Studios' new series based on 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' books.
The new series, in development since May 2020, is set to present Lisbeth Salander, the iconic character from the Stieg Larsson's book series, in today's world with a fresh setting, characters and storylines.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Left Bank Pictures, alongside Sony Pictures TV, the show is expected to engage both fans of the original series and a new generation of viewers.
South has a notable track record, having developed and written 'The Killing', served as executive producer and showrunner, and created a critically acclaimed Netflix series 'Seven Seconds'.
The 'Millennium' book series, which features Lisbeth Salander and has sold over 100 million copies worldwide, has continued under different authors following Larsson's death in 2004.
