- Pope León XIV on Dec. 18 authorized a decree acknowledging a miracle through Shaw’s intercession after a meeting with Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, the prefect for the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints.
- The approved miracle involves the rapid, medically inexplicable recovery of a six-year-old who suffered severe cranial trauma after a horse kick.
- Shaw’s cause opened in Buenos Aires in 2001 at Jorge Bergoglio’s request, he was declared venerable in April 2021, and the case cleared medical review in January 2025 before unanimous theological and episcopal approvals in June and December.
- Church authorities say the beatification will take place in Buenos Aires once scheduled, and ACDE and ACA—promoters of the cause—have publicly celebrated the decision.
