• Caritas, the Vatican’s humanitarian branch, is transforming a Mitsubishi papamobile into a fully equipped mobile clinic for children in Gaza.
• The vehicle was used by Pope Francis during his 2014 pilgrimage to Bethlehem and was entrusted to Caritas Jerusalem as part of his final wishes before his death on April 21, 2025.
• The clinic will feature suture kits, syringes, oxygen, vaccine storage, and a medical team to address the critical needs of Gaza's displaced children.
• Cardinal Anders Arborelius initiated the project, securing papal approval to repurpose the symbolic vehicle for humanitarian purposes.
• Deployment of the clinic is contingent upon the reopening of the Gaza humanitarian corridor, with the vehicle already undergoing conversion work.
