Overview
- A man arrived outside the Triumph showroom before midnight, cut through the glass and entered at about 12:06 am on Monday, then spent roughly four-and-a-half hours making coffee, bathing, changing clothes and dancing before riding away around 4:00 am on a KTM Adventure 390 S worth about ₹4.71 lakh.
- The missing motorcycle belonged to showroom manager Rohit Kumar Singh and was reportedly parked inside with the key, a detail police and media say highlights a security lapse at the dealership.
- Varanasi police and a forensic team inspected the scene, collected CCTV footage and fingerprint evidence, registered an FIR at Manduadih police station and circulated the suspect’s images to stations to aid identification and arrest.
- The full CCTV clip has gone viral on social media and drawn wide public attention because of the suspect’s prolonged, relaxed behavior inside the showroom before the theft.
- Investigators are conducting raids and follow-up searches to trace the accused and recover the bike and the case is likely to prompt closer scrutiny of showroom security and staff procedures for securing high-value stock.
