Overview
- Train No. 20633 from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram halted near Akathumuri Halt around 10:10 pm on Tuesday when the loco pilot spotted an autorickshaw on the down line.
- Railway Protection Force, engineering teams, and local police responded quickly, removed the abandoned vehicle, and certified the track safe.
- Television footage showed the autorickshaw damaged and lying across the track before it was cleared.
- The train resumed at about 11:15 pm and reached Thiruvananthapuram Central around 11:50 pm, with no injuries reported and normal operations restored.
- The autorickshaw driver, identified as Sudhi, was taken into custody on suspicion of intoxication, and an official investigation is underway.
