- Vancouver Coastal Health’s new notice targets Pepper Creek Pizza & Pasta in Sechelt for salad consumption on July 31–Aug. 14 and Aug. 23–29, with vaccination advised as soon as possible.
- The earlier alert applies to anyone who ate from the Sea Monkey Coffee truck at Sunday Cider in Gibsons between Aug. 1 and Aug. 25, with vaccination recommended for Aug. 14–25 diners and symptom monitoring for others.
- People who ate cooked foods such as pizza, sandwiches or pasta at the Sechelt restaurant are not considered at risk, according to the health authority.
- Symptoms of hepatitis A can emerge two to seven weeks after exposure and may include fatigue, loss of appetite, abdominal pain and jaundice.
- A single dose of vaccine can prevent illness if given within two weeks of exposure, and it is available free to eligible residents in the VCH region.
