Valve Updates Policy to Allow More AI-Generated Games on Steam

Developers Required to Disclose AI Use, Ensure No Illegal Content

Valve has updated its policy to allow the majority of games using AI technology to be released on Steam.
Developers will now be required to disclose how AI is used in their games, both in pre-generated and live-generated content.
Pre-generated content refers to assets created with AI tools during development, while live-generated content is created with AI tools while the game is running.
Developers must ensure that their games do not include illegal or infringing content, and that the live version of their game matches their marketing material.
Valve is also implementing a new system that allows players to report any illegal material they encounter in live-generated AI content.
