Overview

  • Steam Client Beta introduces five new accessibility options: UI scaling, high contrast mode, reduced motion toggles, screen reader support and color filters.
  • These tools are accessible via a dedicated Accessibility tab in SteamOS settings and in Big Picture Mode on PCs and handheld devices.
  • SteamOS users can adjust screen reader pitch, speed and volume and apply grayscale, inverted brightness or inverted color filters across the UI and games.
  • Since April, developers have added accessibility details to over 5,000 Steam applications and users can now filter games by individual accessibility features.
  • Valve is encouraging players with disabilities to test the beta features and share feedback to shape future accessibility improvements.
