Overview

• A total of 316 adult and 307 child entrants competed in the first weekend across Pla del Remei-Gran Via, Quatre Carreres and Russafa B, with eight finalists chosen in each category.
• Contestants will return over the next three weekends to narrow the field to 73 adult and 73 child finalists before September trials and an October final at La Fonteta or Roig Arena.
• May’s municipal reforms introduced higher minimum budgets, defined jury procedures and centralized dispute resolution to boost transparency and financial oversight.
• Eligibility rules require candidates to meet age criteria and two years of commission membership, with most sectors allotted three finalist slots and six sectors limited to two.
• Two new commissions, Turianova and Moreras, are participating for the first time while Horta Sud-La Costera and Montesa-Doctor Marañón were excluded after their dissolution this spring.
