- Maricopa County’s Proposition 409 to finance nearly $900 million in public health improvements was leading 51.2% to 48.8% in the Nov. 5 evening update.
- Mesa City Council member Julie Spilsbury conceded her recall race, with early returns showing Dorean Taylor ahead roughly 53% to 47%.
- Most school bonds and overrides in Maricopa County appeared on track to pass, including measures in Chandler Unified, Isaac Elementary, Saddle Mountain Unified, Tempe Elementary and West-MEC, while requests in Buckeye Union, Dysart Unified (bond), Nadaburg Unified, Pendergast Elementary and Tolleson Union were trailing.
- West-MEC’s $415 million bond was narrowly ahead in early returns and a separate measure allowing the district to sell or lease land was leading by a wider margin.
- Tolleson Union’s $125 million bond was down about 40%–60% and its budget override was failing with about 58% voting no in early counts.
