Valentín Castellanos transfers from NYCFC to Lazio for record fee

Castellanos was the leading MLS scorer in 2021 and scored 50 goals in 109 matches for NYCFC.
He spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Girona in La Liga, scoring 13 goals in 35 matches.
NYCFC and Girona are both owned by City Football Group, parent company of Manchester City.
Lazio signed Castellanos for a reported $16.7 million, a record fee for the Italian club.
Castellanos expressed excitement to play in Europe and the Champions League with Lazio.
