Overview

  • The plan repurposes Muelle 3, a Bien de Relevancia Local warehouse in Parque Central that was once designated for an IVAM expansion.
  • Renovation works include enclosing the nave, reorganizing interior spaces and installing climate control to meet museum standards.
  • Valdés will deposit a curated selection of his sculptures and paintings for an initial ten years, with renewals in five-year increments.
  • Admission to Espai Manolo Valdés will be free, backed by an initial €1 million allocation from the city council.
  • The center joins the Museo del Mar and Centro de Interpretación del Santo Cáliz in Valencia’s broader strategy to invigorate cultural tourism.
