Overview

  • The new Arnau de Vilanova facility will cost €444 million, including €273 million for construction and €150 million for medical equipment, and feature 500 individual rooms.
  • Paterna will receive an Advanced Healthcare Campus funded with over €75 million that includes emergency services, operating theatres and a cancer prevention unit.
  • The existing Arnau de Vilanova hospital will be repurposed to treat chronic patients once the new Valencia hospital opens.
  • Demolition of the former Hospital La Fe complex is under way and is expected to finish by November 2025 to clear space for the new build.
  • Compromís per Paterna argues the decision shifts more than €300 million in planned investment away from Paterna despite the new campus announcement.
