Overview
- The installation began on June 29 following the conclusion of the l’Escuraeta artisan market, marking the start of the plaza’s seasonal cooling measures
- The canopy provides 500 m² of shade designed to ease high city‐center temperatures that have reached 35 °C
- Humidifiers placed among the plaza’s vegetation and a Local Police citizen assistance van have been deployed to offer relief and support during the heat wave
- The shade structure relies on 39 ground anchors and 19 elevated canvas panels at heights of 5 to 6 meters, preserving unobstructed views of the Valencia Cathedral
- Since 2022 EMT has managed the project under a €15,000 annual assembly and disassembly contract as part of the Plaza de la Reina urban reform initiated by the Rialto government
