Valencia Launches Line 8 Extension to Turianova, First Bus Service for the Neighborhood

The extension answers years of resident complaints by giving the new neighborhood its first direct link to central Valencia.

Overview

  • Service began Friday, October 3 at 05:50 with existing timetables preserved and an average frequency of 11.5 minutes.
  • The route is now named 'Porta de la Mar–Malilla–Turianova' and adds four stops, including two near Hospital La Fe and two on calle Gonzalo Tejero Langarita.
  • Residents gain direct access to Porta de la Mar and to Malilla destinations such as the health center and schools.
  • Installation of the new stops was completed in July and August at a reported cost of €27,700.
  • The move implements the EMT 2025–2030 Master Plan, with future extensions in Turianova and a planned Line 9‑S variant for Sociópolis described by the city as next steps.
