Valencia Confirms 9 d’Octubre Program as Safor Towns Delay Events for Rain

Traffic restrictions and EMT changes are in place for evening protests and the overnight fireworks.

Overview

  • València’s schedule includes the noon bajada de la Senyera and Civic Procession, a Plaza del Ayuntamiento mascletà from 14:00 to 14:20, and the XXI Entrada de Moros y Cristianos with comparsas from towns affected by the October 2024 DANA.
  • On Wednesday night, a 200‑drone show is set for 23:00 at the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, followed at 23:59 by a large castillo from the Puente de Montolivet fired by Pirotecnia del Mediterráneo using 819 kilos of powder.
  • The Puente de Montolivet is closed from 06:00 on Oct. 8, parking is restricted along the Alameda and nearby avenues, and access from the V‑15 will be cut between 22:30 and 01:00, with EMT detours published via its website and app.
  • Two demonstrations on Oct. 9 are scheduled from 18:00 to 22:00, both starting at Plaza de San Agustín and moving along routes through Xàtiva and Colón toward Alfons el Magnànim or Plaza de América, with expected traffic and bus impacts.
  • Several Safor municipalities, including Tavernes de la Valldigna, Barx, Daimús and Piles, have suspended or postponed outdoor 9 d’Octubre events due to forecast persistent rain, while the main program in València remains on schedule.
