Overview

  • Work began in June and remains on track for completion before the 2026 Feria de Fallas, keeping the bullring closed through this year’s summer and autumn festivals.
  • Dismantling of corridor panels, electrical lines and perimeter trays has started to clear space for new stainless steel LED projectors offering five preset lighting levels.
  • Initial tests of the LED fixtures and removal of the false cane ceiling have exposed wooden structures damaged in the 1946 fire, underlining years of deferred maintenance.
  • A new aspirating fire detection network with tubing running beneath the roof will be monitored around the clock from the Diputación de Valencia’s coordination centre.
  • The upgrade aims to modernize the 1859 venue for improved safety, broadcast quality and preservation of its architectural heritage.
