Vaishnaw Inaugurates ₹870-Crore Optiemus Tempered-Glass Plant in Noida

The unit advances India’s push to localize mobile screen protection with Corning-engineered glass.

  • Optiemus said the inaugurated first phase involves ₹70 crore and an installed capacity of 25 million screen protectors a year, generating over 600 direct jobs.
  • Chairman Ashok Kumar Gupta announced a planned second phase with an additional ₹800 crore to scale capacity to 200 million units annually and create more than 4,500 direct jobs.
  • Ashwini Vaishnaw said production of covered glass using Corning technology is expected to begin by the end of the year.
