Vaikunta Ekadasi Opens Vaikunta Dwaram at Major Shrines as Tirumala Starts 10-Day Darshan

TTD is implementing token-only entry with Aadhaar for the first three days to prioritize Sarva/Dharma Darshan.

Overview

  • Paramapada Vasal/Vaikunta Dwaram opened at Srirangam, Triplicane in Chennai and other temples, drawing large pre-dawn crowds of devotees.
  • TTD’s Vaikunta Dwara Darshan runs from December 30 to January 8, with pre-issued e-dIP tokens required through January 1 and broader walk-in access from January 2 to 8.
  • All paid darshan categories are suspended during the initial phase to favor common pilgrims, with separate Tirumala entry routes aligned to time slots for crowd flow.
  • TTD says the new e-dIP random allotment granted a major share of tokens to the Telugu states, including 92,221 of 11.53 lakh applicants from Andhra Pradesh and 49,127 of 6.08 lakh from Telangana.
  • Crowd-control, security, transport and pilgrim services are in full deployment across temple towns, and Srisailam has begun free sparsha darshan for identified Chenchu tribals.
