Vacaville Officer Killed by Alleged Drug-Impaired Driver During Traffic Stop

Officer Matthew Bowen, a one-year veteran of the Vacaville Police Department, was struck and killed while conducting a traffic stop.

The suspect, Serena C. J. Rodriguez, allegedly attempted to flee but was apprehended by bystanders.
Bowen had previously served with the Concord Police Department before joining Vacaville PD.
Rodriguez faces charges of homicide and driving under the influence causing injury and/or death.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Leisure Town Road and Orange Drive.
Bowen is survived by his wife, two sons, parents, and a brother.
